One Is No One, a documentary film made by a student run production company at Villanova University, examining the everyday struggles of an impoverished family in Costa Rica living in the shadows of the luxury tourist resorts.
Usually, when a group of college kids fly to Costa Rica they’re looking for sun, sand and good times. But when 16 students from Villanova University’s Social Justice Documentary Film program headed to Costa Rica it was to tell an important story. They took a look at the day to day life of an impoverished family who lives not far from the fancy tourist resorts. “One is No One” is the award- winning documentary that tells the tale of Mama and her family and the systemic poverty in Costa Rica.
