Tell Me More May 20, 2018 “The Overnight” – The Walk to Prevent Suicide with Jim Cummings

Listen to Tell Me More May 20th “The Overnight” Walk to Prevent Suicide:

Suicide is the last great health issue of our time. In 2016 there were 45,000 reported suicide deaths in the U.S.  Every day, approximately 123 Americans take their own life…More lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined, and yet suicide prevention does not receive anywhere near the funding given to other leading causes of death. Along with the usual grief surrounding a sudden death families dealing with a suicide usually involves feelings of guilt, shame, and feelings of rejection, the stigma that surrounds suicide is very real.

But for one night, thousands of people will save thousands of lives.  Jim Cummings of Marlton, New Jersey is among thousands of people across the country who will be taking part in The Overnight, a 16 mile walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.  It takes place June 16th in Philadelphia.  For more information please visit http://www.theovernight.orgwww.theovernight.org
